The Prayer Walking Adventure Begins

Today, I started prayer walking Williamstown!

I had the idea to prayer walk, first, from a burden the Lord had given me a while back, and second, from inspiration of a fellow pastor, Ken Jasko.  He prayer walked the entire city where his church is located and spoke about it at a recent minister's meeting.  As he was speaking, the Lord prompted me, "It's time to get going!"

My husband, Kurt, our Boston Terrier, Dexter, and myself walked out our front door this evening, and prayed a prayer that went something like this (Dexter didn't pray, just Kurt and I):

"Lord, I am standing on Joshua 1:3 that says, 'I will give you every place where you set your foot.' As we set out to prayer walk every street and development in Williamstown, I ask you for the salvation of every person in every house where we trod.  I ask you to reveal territorial strongholds so that they can be pulled down. I also ask you for divine encounters and divine appointments.  Lord, I am going to be obedient to you to prayer walk Williamstown in your grace and strength.  In Jesus Name. Amen"

We prayer walked two developments: Glen Eyre and Amberleigh (our neighborhood).  We took our bottle of anointing oil, anointed the development signs and prayed up and down every street, praying both in the Spirit and with understanding.  In Glen Eyre, we got to introduce ourselves to several families which was really cool and we also prayed for families that attend our church who live in that development.

When we reached Amberleigh, I asked the Lord to help me reach my neighbors for Him and then something really amazing happened. After walking down several streets, one of my neighbors, who I see only occasionally, waved me down.  She reminded me of a time a while back when me and my friend Marie prayed for her healing on my back patio.  She told me that she felt something go through her body and went back to the doctor and he said that she had been healed!  She proceded to tell me that her daughter-in-law has cancer and asked me to pray for her.  I was astounded at how God immediately answered my prayer!

So, please agree with me that Williamstown will be won for the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit will reign down upon this city. I have decided to document my adventure in this blog, so check back often for more updates.
